Every handheld to ever take on Nintendo has lost. It's the very definition of insanity. Every company to take on Nintendo has tried the same thing expecting different results. Make it more powerful than Nintendo's hand held and let the money roll in guys!...or or not. Nintendo is like John Cena with handhelds. lol Nintendo wins. I would still buy this as I do like my Vita and PSP more than my DS and 3DS but still I would not trust Sony to keep support for it. Sony has a knack for quickly abandoning hardware that isn't their main home console.

What silliness. Every home console to take on Nintendo lost until Sony came along with the Playstation. I guess Sony just shouldn't have bothered since no one could take on the juggernaught that was Nintendo, right?

Your comparison sucks. NES had the market cornered but SNES lost half the share with Genesis and others. Home console different beast. That was a period of what 6 years they owned the market when the console market was still in infancy? Nintendo has owned the handheld market since 1989. 28 years. Sony SEGA Atari some of the bigest names ever tried to take on Nintendo in the handheld market MULTIPLE times and EACH time failed to take it from them. Hell the largest cell phone manufacture for the time Nokia failed twice. PS1 beat SEGA and Nintendo day 1 when the console market was still young. Genesis cut into NES market DAY ONE.  Now handhelds are not as popular as they were even a decade ago. Sony has tried twice to take the market away from Nintendo and both times came up short. Yes PSP sold well but still left in the dust by DS.  No one has come close. No one can as long as they use the same failed approach of just more power. Gunpei Yokoi is a legend for a reason with his philosophy to hardware Nintendo has followed for 3 decades. It works. If you are going to try and beat Nintendo at the handheld market, find a better strategy because the one everyone else has used for 28 years isn't working.
