They sold their soul. The only people who can tell trump no now are members of congress and the senate. Trump doesnt get told no and thats why I believe he has that disorder (and well..has had it for years). Psychologist say its instilled from a young age usually by family. Then again, trump did threaten to split the republican party in half and take the votes with him when he went third party if they didnt give him what he wanted in the nomination. Republicans didnt call his bluff. They gave him what he wanted. Narcisssists use fear to keep those they hold hostage in line. Now its almost like every republican Ive spoken to has forgotten about that issue. Its almost like stockholm syndrome.

You guys really need to take a deep breath and relax.  Trump isn't going to be "president for life" (he'd be shot before he ever got the chance to attempt it, and it would probably be an inside job / military coup too).  At worst he'll do something to get himself impeached before his term is up, which would mean Mike Pence takes over and ironically most on the left side of the political spectrum view Pence as even WORSE than Trump just because of his religious views.

I predict Trump's presidency will be similar to Clinton's in the 90s, where he'll attempt to "triangulate" between the different factions of both the Republican and Democratic parties.  There are already plenty of establishment Democrats willing to work with him on things like infrastructure and trade, and the extremist factions in both parties will end up cancelling one another out as any attempt by Trump to enact his most controversial campaign promises like building the wall, deporting 20 million illegals and putting a halt on Muslim immigrants wil be met with fierce resistance.

Trump will of course be firing off his usual Tweetstorm throughout his term, but thanks to the checks and balances we have in place and the way the political pendulum in this country constantly swings every election cycle, the odds of Trump becoming Hitler Jr are infintesimally small.

You have entirely too much faith in the system. This system was supposed to prevent this situation from even happening. And it still happened. We had primaries filled with far more qualified people. And it still happened. Then we had a general election, and it still happened. We had debates that showed that he didn't know squat about anything, and it still happened. Then the Electoral College could have saved us, and it still happened.

I'm not going to have faith in the system. He will be appointing several supreme court justices and that will go a long way towards getting what he wants. Plus add in more cowardly GOP slugs who sold out everything they were supposed to be and we're looking at a recipe for disaster.
