If your defining a fad as something that sells really well for a long time due to hype, but isn't play with long after its bought, then possibly it could be a fad.

If you mean a fad as in it won't sell well after they hype dies down, you're so wrong it's funny.

Wii Fit will outsell most other videogames. It will sell like crack, and continue to sell till Nintendo decides to stop producing the boards. Wii-Fit is set to be the biggest hardware moving title of all time, if it catches on the mainstream, and even if it doesn't, it'll still sell millions and millions of units, and boulster the Wii's userbase far ahead of the competition.

As a Wii owner, even if you hate Wii-Fit, the benefits to the console are undeniable, and even if you want to call it a fad, remember, all videogames could be called fads if you wanted to label each one individually. This will just be the biggest one, possibly of all time, and even if it fails, it is set to be one of the biggest games of all time, saleswise. If it succeeds, get ready for your Wiistation 4, and your Xbox Motion60 next gen, cause the profit and userbase increase will be undeniable.

I don't think this title is marginalizable by calling it a fad. It's too huge, too impactful, and too unstoppable. It's like the Borg. Wii-Borg. Surrender now or we will destroy your ship. Resistance 2 if futile. I am Locutus of Borg. Surrender now or we will destory your ship.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
