If they were paid DLC, presumably you wouldn't have to download it until you bought it, but now they just toss it all at you. I experienced something similar with DOOM, albeit on PC. I booted the game up for some afternoon fun only to be greeted by a 12GB patch. Yeah, I didn't get to play that day. |
The Halo 5 updates aren't just maps and modes, its also includes content like armor, skins, assassin animations and probably other balance changes in the game.
So too many changes happen in the overall multiplayer content as opposed to the usual map pack.
