Gonna tag this for a read of suggestions myself later but I will add a few sorry if they've been mentioned already but I've not read through the thread.
Studio 60 on the Sunset strip - One of matthew perrys many failed shows after friends, it had some huge production values and did a sort of back stage show based on something like a Saturday Night Live show, very good and gotta love Perry in it.
Reboot - Old CGI cartoon (the first full length cgi episodic show) Goes on for 4 series and ends on a awful cliffhanger which is resolved in ways during comics much much later, but the show itself starts off horribly bad, but builds up some absolutely amazing characters, story arcs and by the 3-4th seasons you will be glued to the screen considering both 3rd and the 4th season of this are one massive story arc, not just episodic fluff like some of the early episodes... that said if you want to know what is going on you need to watch it from pretty much the first cringe filled ep, but it gets so so so sooooooooooo good, can't recommend this enough
Warner Brothers Batman animated series - If you've not watched it... you've missed out on some of the best things to feature the caped crusader that do not involve Adam West (that is a lie in fact.... Adam West features in an episode as a washed up TV superhero, it's awesome)
Doctor Who - Reboot series - especially the stuff featuring Matt Smith, not just for him but also he has the best companion story arc of any of the series which I have seen, really was amazing stuff and I shed many many a tear in Manhatten.
Anti recommendation - How i met your mother - if anyone suggests you watch this, have them shot for trying to waste your time, if you disagree with this, then you can disregard my other recommendations. So much potential during the series, turned into a dragged out mess because it was popular and ended in one of the worst.... "why the fuck" moments I've ever seen.
