I doubt a card ridge of 64gb is cheaper than a 50gb blu ray. Besides some still use the blu ray function of the PS4, it is still the best way to view hd movies and series. Besides what's wrong with the system the PS4 and Xone use where the game is transferred to your hard drive, works fine by me.

You are quite right, do a simple search on 16GB, 32GB and 64GB flash against 25GB and 50GB Bluray disks and there is no contest since Bluray disks are so much cheaper especially in OEM quantities.

What is also to realise is that Bluray discs are what is called in the industry "passive" devices while flash or cartridges are "active" devices and are much more prone to failure than Bluray although to be fair flash and cartridges are fairly reliable.

It may be possible for Nintendo to go back to cartridges but if they do that don't expect third party developers to support that media especially when the competing media is relatively cheap. Of course, we can also look at Digital Downloads and a cartridge based system can't beat that especially if the storage media is a solid state disk (SSD) which can actually be very much faster than a cartridge. SSD's are not exactly cheap although it is possible to get 250GB SSD's for under $100 and in the fairly near future, you will be able to get 1TB or more SSD's allot cheaper.

At the moment, you can actually get a 15TB SSD but you won't get much change from $8000.00, still the potential is there.
