They don't want you to buy "another" one. 

No one is holding a gun to your head. 

Every game made will work on both skus just as always. 

To be fair... they are a business. They DO want you to buy another one (this gen is profitable on the hardware front).

That said - they aren't forcing you.

They are splitting the PS4 into 2 SKUs. A cheaper HD version, and a more expensive UHD one.

Similiar to how Microsoft breaks the Surface Pro into multiple versions. There is the $500 version with the i3 and the $2000 version with the i7 + 512GB SSD.
