My wife is Scottish and her family have been debating this. One of the main reasons many want Scotland to be independent is due to UKs relationship with America and the money they spent on Iraq and Afghanistan with ongoing financial support in Israel.
It will be interesting to see if it goes ahead how it would affect Scotland, whether they would keep the currency or join the euro and whether Wales may follow suit.
