i dont get this article, it seems to say that "we" and "the consumer" are not the same people. yes, MS decided to remove kinect bacuse of the sales numbers, but thats the best indication of what the market actually wants. they did listen to the most relaible source of what comsumers want, sales numbers. Microsoft shouldnt be discredited because they did something the market want.

Yes microsoft changed removed the kinect because of sales, by doing that its proof that they actually listened to what the market wants, not the other way around. 

This, although listening to market pressure is a bit different from listening to people.

Listening is when you do something freely, capitulating is when you have to do something you don't want due to uncomfortable pressure.

When a kid finally does his homework after you threaten "You are grounded until you do your homework", you're not going to pat him on the back for listening.
