I would say the Wii drove away the hardcore gamers but they lost them a long time ago. The Wii's biggest problem was that there was no foundation to build off of. The online infrastructure was terrible, graphics were still SD, and most 3rd parties avoided the system like the plague. All Sony and Microsoft had to do was make improvements to their current design, Nintendo needed to start fresh with everything.

Nintendo also messed up by not releasing any games on it since 2010. This resulted in the system lacking an active user base. Why do you think the PS4/XBO had such great launches? Because their predecessors had active userbases that were ready for an upgrade. How many people do you honestly think still turn on their Wiis aside from little kids playing Just Dance?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
