Doesn't stand a chance. Microsoft doesn't have an entry point into the market really. They should have exited this generation. Instead they went all in on Kinect... That was Microsofts ray of hope, but do any of you really think the Kinect has or will save the XBox division? Halo will increase sales, but it isn't saving anything. Microsoft is just trying to recoup their losses this generation before exiting next gen. It's pretty much a guarantee at this point.

Agree. ALl numbers suggest it is game over for Xbone and I believe Microsft has realized this and are heavily at work to get rid of the Xbox brand (and smartphones and tablets).

Most likely we will see Xbox being sold or terminated in 2014 but it could also slip to 2015 since these decisions take time.

Remember you heard it here first.

Ok so game over for Microsoft ?

Because getting rid of videogames, smartphones and tablets doesn't leave a lot of products to sell...

But videogames, smartphones and tablets combined have so far made up less than 10% of total Microsoft revenue. With the Nokia aquisition it becomes perhaps 20% but that's still not very much.

The devices strategy hasn't benefited MS and the board knows this, investors know this and if the new CEO realizes this they will get rid of Xbox and smartphones alltogether and continue with the profitable WIndows/Office business.

Do you honestly see a future for MS hardware devices? I've never seen anyone own a Zune device or WIndows Phone device or Widnows Surface tablet and today I've never even seen anybody own a Xbox One, so I think the future of MS hardware looks dark.
