So I'll agree with you, a high percentage of asians are trying to look white, specifically swedish, but I won't agree with you that they are trying to look American overall. If you go to Korea, or Japan, muscles on women are frowned upon, and aren't athletic body types considered hot in USA? Europe tends to favor slim girls over athletic as well. So if I were to be specific, Asians are imitating Northern Europeaners.

P.S. Please tell me why you think Obesity is a Social thing and not a cultural. Isn't the Fast Food buisness a heavy part of American culture (like it or not)? Aren't Burgers and pop a culturally American meal? Aren't Steakhouses predominantly integrated with American diets?

Hey, hey, hey! Don't limit blondes just to Nothern Europe! Central and Eastern Europe is blonde with blue eyes as well! I'm an example :)

And about American food... Man, is it pure trash dipped in fat and made of the worst type of carbohydrates. If you're European and you go there for the first time, even if you're expecting the worse, you're still going to be shocked. How can you eat pizza, when it has so much fat that it gets through the box, no matter how thick it is? Even stuff like Fanta or Coca-Cola is different. When my Canadian friend came to Europe and tried our Fanta, he thought it was real orange juice with vitamins and all. Cause it has so much less sugar and other crap in it. Not that it's good for you, but still NA version is worse. In US even veggies and fruit often seem to be made of plastic. Bleh!

I'm Canadian, and I went to Africa once and tried the Fanta there.....OMG what a difference. I can't stand pop here, but in Africa I drank half pop. You can taste a big difference when they add less sugar and no salt, you don't feel thirsty drinking it.

As for USA, it depends on where you eat and where you are. I don't really eat at fast food places, and the restaurants I do go to are all local, and clean. However I know food in Europe (well not UK) is better. It tastes more similar to the food I'd actually cook at home.

P.S. I'm Easter European as well, and while I don't have blonde hair and blue eyes, I have "dirty blonde" hair and eyes that change colour, but are usually half blue and half green (with a solid dividor, it's kinda funky).

In Europe Coca-Cola and rest of the companies that produce sodas, have to use real sugar (beet sugar); while in States they use High-Fructose corn syrup.

On topic. There's a difference between plastic and cosmetic surgery, so the thread titles isn't maybe well formulated. But anyway, I have nothing aginst them and also plan to have one in June. My brother had few years back septorhinoplasty. He did it at "cosmetic" surgeon, even though a septoplasty is covered by our national health insurance. The procedure I'll have will be performed in general hospital, by plastic surgeon and will be fully covered by national heath insurance even though it's cosmetic in nature.

Oh, that would explain the cleaner taste. Pop in Africa (probably the same in Europe) tasted a lot more like flavoured carbonated water, where in USA and Canada it tastes like burning.

I always talk to people and ask, why don't we tax junk food and specifically tax or ban products with high amounts of HFCS Sugars, or Corn Starch (filler in burgers at places like McDonalds to cut the price of the burger). Heck I'd eat a lot less junk food if it cost 2x as much, and I think it would push companies like Coca Cola to make better pop.
