According to VGChartz, the Wii U has finally passed the 2 million sales mark, all within just around a month. Nintendo hopes to sell around 5.5 million units by April 2013. I am not sure if they will be making that mark, but hopefully they will come close to it.

North America is in the lead currently, this is to be expected since the Wii U released there first. Following North America is Japan, Europe, and finally Rest of World:

  • North America – 1.09 Million Units
  • Japan – 560K Units
  • Europe – 410K Units
  • Rest of World – 150K Units

These numbers are sure to be constantly changing, as more and more people buy the newest Nintendo console. Currently the Wii U has already sold 81% of the original Wii’s numbers for the same time frame, despite costing $100 more. This is an astonishing feat for Nintendo.

Cross your fingers in hopes that Nintendo reaches their sales numbers that they are wising for.
