Short review

I think, by now, it's safe to say that ZombiU, the WiiU exclusive 'hardcore' title is not a repeat of what happened with Red Steel. Or, at least not with most people anyway. It is a strange kind of game; one which infuriates you immensely but rarely because of the game itself, but because of you. You're the reason you died and have to start all over again, and if you didn't want to lose all your weapons, perhaps you should have gone into the next room with something better than the Hunting Crossbow.

It's also a game which brings back the survival horror genre, and for this it should be applauded. One area in particular (which contains some antibiotics, so if you've played the game you'll know what I mean) is very suspense-filled, and it does a great job of not only building an atmosphere, but maintaining it. This is something which has been sadly missing in too many of the so-called 'survival horror franchises' as of late, and so for this game to pull it off so well is surprisingly welcome.

If you're a fan of the genre and looking for a game to play on your shiny new WiiU, then look no further. With a 15+ hour campaign, multiple endings, a high level of replayabilty and some truly great use of the Gamepad, this is quite literally the WiiU's 'killer app'.

If I had the time, there's quite a bit more I'd like to say about the game, but I'd like to hear what you think. Did you get this game? Are you a fan? Or, are you simply stuck and too afraid to ask anyone else for help? Well, get posting then!
