It's nice to see someone has picked up Sony's balls and is running with them now.

His arrogance may come to haunt him. I think both Microsoft and Sony have to take notice of what Nintendo does successfully, but I don't believe that means they need to follow Nintendo. Right now Nintendo is doing a lot of catch-up and we nor Nintendo know what Microsoft and Sony are up to.

My guess is that both Microsoft and Sony have something worked out to compete against the Wii U's controller, and implementing a text-chat world would seem pretty basic when it's entirely possible that Microsoft could implement a live-chat world. Likewise, Sony could integrate Home into the UMB to create a world where you can socialize with people as well as interface with your console.

Nothing Nintendo has done for this next generation is something that can't be easily duplicated, nor is it something that either company doesn't already have a basis for developing further into a direct competitor. So if either Microsoft or Sony match what Nintendo has done with Miiverse or the Wii U controller, they offer something that Nintendo can't or doesn't have ready, and either or both Microsoft and/or Sony have high-performance hardware, then Nintendo could be made irrelevant faster than it was last generation.
