If "innovation" means another type of controller I don't really care. It's cool, but I don't see how it makes anything more fun. I'd rather just have an altered version on the controller I already love and then have some peripherals that experiment a little more.
In this day and age software probably counts for more anyway (OS and its features, UI etc.).
