I say, whoever considers the shape of the d-pad perfect hasn't played 2D games or PS1 games with it for any length of time. The way it's divided in the middle makes no sense and is a thumb-killer. It's ok to for instance select weapons with it in a modern first person shooter, but it's not ok for actually playing games with it for extended periods.
