people can only judge from what they've seen so far... and for some it hasn't impressed them and therefore their comments reflect that

You're right. People can only judge from what they see. Like when they saw that third party showreel from last E3 that was just PS3/360 footage and judged it to look 'worse than 360 games' before it was revealed as PS3/360 footage. That remains one of the most interesting insights into the psyche of those people...
