Well whadayaknow... finally someone with a little common sense in the world of videogame journalism!
All points as to why M$ doesn't need to show off the NextBox yet are pretty much spot on, and the reasons the move could backfire are iffy at best... Wii U is going to be competing directly with PS360 when it's released, so there's no immediate threat to the NextBox by having a console that's basically playing catchup launch a year earlier.
Also, the chances of Sony being ready to upstage M$ at next year's E3 with a full unveiling of the PS4's hardware and software in preparation for a 2013 launch are slim at best at this point.
And Apple is too focused on its iPhone / iPad lineup of stuff to be an immediate threat in the home console / set top box market within the next year or two.
