Long story short: It's about damn time for New Legend of Zelda. A fresh start for a series that shouldn't be just good or great. It needs to aim for legendary status.

That all sounds fine and dandy, but take a look at NSMB... alls it is is a mishmash of gameplay features mixed with a heavy dose of nostalgia, and packaged nicely for the masses who haven't played games since the 8/16-bit days and who now have kids of their own.

NSMB DS and Wii haven't moved the series forward in any meaningful way... in fact, after growing up with the original series, these games feel like a giant step backwards in some respects, with the "been there, done that" feeling you get from playing them.  A "New" Legend of Zelda would essentially be the same thing... except we've already been getting that with almost every iteration of Zelda since the original, as almost every single main game in the series feels like a glorified remake or reboot of the original.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
