I reread it and I saw something, don't know if it's the same thing as what you saw. What I noticed would be linked to a possible role in the game and it would make me wary of hatmoza.

So I'm guessing someone or maybe the whole Mafia team might be looking for the Rod of Wonk T'nodi as part of their night actions (stealing the missing gem from a player who has it) and that if it is found the person will have the power to switch another player's target.
