I am fairly well aware of the torrent stats. Please look at the unbiased studies before you spout out bullshit. If you had, you woudln't be talking out of your ass the way you are.

I am not spouting bullshit.

While I understand that piracy in western countries are not as high as in asia(or S.E. asia), it's slowly increasing.

You also have to count in the open secret of pirates selling PC bootleg games for a few bucks in many asian countries even in countries like south korea.

The fact that you have to resort to personal insults says alot about the agenda you're trying to sell.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=3988276

My agenda is further supported by some serious studies on the effects of piracy, the insults are just the cherry on top. What is your agenda supported by?

My agenda is supported by what I see on the ground here in the lanshops and some illegal bootleg gaming shops in my country singapore and around other countries in Asia.

In my country, It has been heavily controlled in the recent years by the government but there are still sources if you know how to look and you are too lazy to torrent.

I'm just trying to point out that if you don't pay attention to the piracy problem, it will just keep growing.

I'm sure there's alot of articles regarding piracy on the PC..so I'll just point out one- http://www.gamepolitics.com/2010/12/29/most-pirated-games-2010

Ah, so your agenda is backed up solely by your limited experience. Glad we got that out of the way.

P.S. The link you showed is absolutely pointless if you cant show pirated copies are lost sales. Which many studies have shown to be not true.

Limited experience?

Have you played in any of the lan shops in asia? Have you noticed that many of their games like warcraft 3 can't access the bnet or the official multiplayer network?

In some other S.E.Asia countries, you can see many people openly peddling many bootleg pc games.

And are you sure that majority of the people that torrented the game will buy the game?

I will tell you that the pirates of the yester-years(around 10 years ago) will eventually buy the games  because they liked the game enough to make them want to play online..but nowadays especially with external lan/multiplayer programs like garena and hamachi(and god knows what else is there), what is the motivation for them to buy the original copy?

Yes, limited. You are one person. I can go to some rich neigbourhood and I can find someone who knows people who only buy their games and that even people who pirated games end up buying them. Then it becomes your word vs his. That is why your personal experience is absolutely worthless. Go look at the things I linked, they have actual data collected.

What do you mean I am one person?? So apparently you think in my region upper class people outnumber middle class people? I am talking the average person(asian region) here.

My primary school, secondary school, tertiary friends, relatives and colleagues all have torrented games or movies in some way or another.

My friend from indonesia once told me that you are the "sucker" for paying for full priced game copies when there is so many ways to get the game for free.

If what you said is true about piracy not affecting sales, then game companies shouldn't even bother with the basic CD key drm right? Since it will not affect sales? then Blizzard shouldn't have removed LAN and used the "1cd key 1 account" DRM because they will definitely get more sales right??

Why do you think all other PC games sales(apart from free MMO/blizzard games) are all struggling in asia?

Why do you think PC game companies have to come out with new DRMs all the time?

Why are so many other japanese game companies reluctant to release their games on the PC?

I don't think the pirate's mentality and culture of asia and in certain western countries like sweden which I've heard from a friend.(anyone can verify?)

P.S. I've look through your post history, all you do is attack people post negative(even slightly negative) reports on PC piracy. So I think it's pointless.
