You may be missing a key point prof. The aliens wouldn't have even had to read the flavor to know that Wonk was the doc. Let's say I'm scum, then I would know Wonk is a townie and thus likely isn't lying about having a power role. If I make an assumption now that you're a townie, then I'd also know that you wouldn't have any idea what Wonk really is, but that's insignificant really. He'd have given it away with the claim post:

Why wouldn't he just outright claim cop? Sure if he were, then he wouldn't know for certain that there is a doc and he could be dead at night anyway, but it's better than being vague.

Well apparently he couldn't heal himself, and figured hinting power to stop the lynchtrain while still leaving the possibility of a doc being out there to protect himself at night would deter scum from killing him at night. This makes more sense, but I don't know if the aliens would've figured that out or not. I think it would be hilarious if they did everything as you said it.
I'm not sure if you're right, but a lot of the logic you're using is very reasonable, and the mini-gambit is something I'd expect from you as a townie. I'm getting the town vibe back, but I'm still very wary. Going to downgrade to FoS.

Although I don't believe the scumteam didn't know Wonk was the doctor, I do wonder what good ABC thought his idea would do. Even if he's a townie and the aliens did exactly what he thought, would they own up to it?
At "worst" it was an alien confession and at "best" it's become a huge distraction. I was still content to wait for an investigation before pressuring ABC, but I'm not sure if he can be ignored any longer.
HoS: A Bad Clown
It's far too early for a vote, and if there are indeed 3 mafia then a mislynch will definitely mean lylo day three, so I'm going to wait until I'm almost absolutely positive that I'm voting for scum before I place a vote. Besides I still have a lot of posts to read and quote, but I've got to help someone with a math project. I won't be going to sleep until I'm all caught up though.
