As we all know the Mario Kart franchise is the most successful Mario spin-off series. It has spanned 9 games (6 in the main series, 2 arcade, and the upcoming Mario Kart 3DS). With Mario Kart 3DS in the works, what five characters do I want to feature in the next instalment of the series? Find out below (order from 5-1):
5) King K. Rool
He first appeared in Donkey Kong Country as the Kong's antagonist. He is the leader of the Kremling Krew which resembles him.
He should be incorporated into the next Mario Kart Game because Funky Kong a Donkey Kong Country character (other than Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong) was included in the latest instalment, Mario Kart Wii. This means it is logical to include him.
4) Kamek
He first appeared in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island and is essentially Yoshi’s arch-rival. He is also the advisor to Bowser.
He should be incorporated into the next Mario Kart Game because he is high ranking in the Bowser hierarchy and is also a suitable rival to Yoshi. He is also part of the vast Koopa family.
3) Pauline
She first appeared in Donkey Kong as Jumpman’s (Mario) first love interest. She is not of any royal-descendants. Eventually Mario met Princess Toadstool (Peach), this ended Pauline’s relationship with Mario.
She should be incorporated into the next Mario Kart game because she is one of the original Mario characters and was long and forgotten until the Mario vs. Donkey Kong franchise.
2) Lubba
He first appeared in the recently released Super Mario Galaxy 2 as a counterpart to Rosalina. In my opinion Lubba is a great addition to the Super Mario franchise; this is down to his quirky and friendly manner.
He should be incorporated into the next Mario Kart game because he would be a great counterpart to Rosalina and would highlight the Luma species.
1) Fawful
He first appeared in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and is considered as very insane due to his delusional manner. He has broken free from Cackletta and is now an independent antagonist of Mario.
He should be incorporated into the next Mario Kart game because his insanity would contrast with Bowser’s devilish manner. The next Mario Kart needs to pay homage to Fawful because the Mario RPG franchise will flourish even more.
