I don't know, GTA4 got some pretty awesome reviews (Oscar worthy story, remember?) and we all know how that turned out.  Personally, I'll wait until the game has actually been released for a week before seeing what everyone thinks about it.

EDIT:  I've played the PS3 demo and it was decent.  It was pretty funn, but I really don't get exactly why the game is being hyped so much.  Maybe the full game is better (lots of awesome bosses maybe?), but the demo didn't do it for me.

Haven't played the PS3 demo, but yes, lots of awesome bosses, and this game is based around gameplay depth which isn't readily apparent in a simple demo, or even a single playthrough.

My opinion about GTAIV is that most people loved it, but like with all big multiplats, its so praised and so big, it formed a vocal anticommunity who assumes that everyone hated it, but they didn't, don't, or ever will, and in the future, when that community dies due to distance from the games praise and release, it will be remembered as a classic, and prehaps the best game in the franchise. That's kinda a tangent though, and it really has nothing to do with your point which is: Reviews mean nothing, only user reviews. Well, we're months away from getting a decent reading on the user reception for any of these games so it's nothing we can deduce right now.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
