I just hope they do not destroy the SotC movie.

As a big fan they should have just asked Guillermo Del Toro to do it.

Instead I heard the writer for the movies story is the same guy who did "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li". Justin Marks. -_-

Why would they do such a thing?

I commented on Del Toro's involvement with the movie in the news section, but I was probably late so I'll copy/paste:

"I think Del Toro would be a decent choice - I'd be afraid in him going overboard, visually.

I think Spike Jonze would be the best choice (Being John Malkovich, the upcoming Where the Wild Things Are adaptation). His visual style in the WtWTA trailer seems like it would suit the game fantastically, and he has a quirky style that could work."

However, I'd largely prefer they not go through with the adaptation at all.
The writer onboard was probably the worst news though, I have no idea why they thought that was a good idea.

EDIT: That interview is a tad optimistic. I'm still upset though .

I am right there with you. I am not too crazy about the writer myself either but I heard Sony games is on board with the movie production so I just hope Ueda has A LOT of say in what goes on.

I don't want this to become like every other thing Hollywood screws up.

Even the producer, Kevin Misher makes me upset. No word on a Director yet though.

Edit - This may just be my LotR love showing here, but how do you think Peter Jackson would do? I know that would at least get people to watch it.
