Forums - Gaming Discussion - [OFFICIAL] Resident Evil 2 REMAKE Thread

IGN has honestly gone downhill for years now. They've had journo's copying and stealing other's review pieces, going for the smallest of things in games and blowing them up to something stupid and unimportant, and then of course we have their REmake 2 review, which misses the point entirely.

Do they even hire any journos that were born and alive prior to 2000/2005?, because it feels like they've only hired people who don't know their games well enough at all.

IGN... Man, I feel so bad for this Daemon Hatfield guy I can't bring myself to mention his blunder without feeling his embarrassment but here goes, IGN reviewed the game but missed the entirety of the second campaign, Instead replaying campaign A as the other character. That really hurt to write but it must be said, oh and they increased their score by 0.2 to a 9/10 up from an 8.8 after Daemon realized he critiqued the game for not changing once playing the second campaign yet actually having replayed campaign A as the other character with minor changes and not the true second half of the game.
I'm red in the face right now, I can't imagine how embarrassed Daemon Hatfield is currently.

It's even more embarrassing when the original game had that same structure.

Signature goes here!

This games all downloaded and ready to go on my PS4! So amped.

Playing it on PC, smooth so far but had a few drops but fine non the less also had an issue where the intro had out of sync audio but was fine when it switched to Leon.

Tbh I'm staring to see how this engine operates while playing through the game they've used some clever tricks and approaches with it, the main character models and enemies are highly detailed while everything else is around average in detail and such but a combination of effects are applied to cover that giving the game its visual look it's kind of like the ENB presets in Skyrim modding as the end result looks good even with what they used.

You should throw some ReShade on that. Sharpening it up and really push the colors etc, etc...

Will give that a try.

So far I absolutely love this game, to me it’s way way better then RE7. It’s right up there with the original 2 for me. The one and only aspect of the game I dislike is Mr X, he’s not scary, he’s not particularly hard to lose he’s just fucking annoying. I prefer his scripted moments from the original of B scenario. Why even put him in Scenario A now. I understand a lot of people like the cliche run and hide horror theme but to me it’s meh and actually takes away from my enjoyment. Other than that I can’t recommend this game enough.

What’s everyone else feelings on Mr. X, am I just an idiot or do others feel the same way haha?

I an glad to finally know this isn't the original game with better graphics. I was concerned this remake would have the same puzzles as the original. It feels like I am playing a new game.

I haven't enjoyed a resident evil game this much since 4.

I will download it today, yessssss.

It got so many perfect scores, 91 on Meta. Holy crap it looks fantastic.
