Forums - Sales Discussion - US Supply Math Trivia

Hi Everyone, I decided to start a list of all the retailers that sell consoles in the U.S. and the # of stores they operate. The problem is that I need help with 2 things; 1) an estimate for the mom and pop's store in all of U.S. that sell consoles and 2) Am I missing any retailers from my list below?? Retailers and the # of stores operated: EB – 4400 Circuit City – 600 Best Buy – 600 Walmart – 3800 Target – 1500 Toys’R’us – 587 Kmart- 1416 Sears – 2400 Total number in all of U.S (so far) - 15303 stores VG estimates that 20% of the 10.4 million 360's shipped are inventory. Now we estimate that half of the 360's inventory is in the U.S. and... You get approx. 68 Xbox 360's sitting on 15,303 stores shelve and/or storerooms. Am I missing any stores?

Lifetime Sales Prediction - 6/29/2013
Wii U - 38 million
XBOX One - 88 million
Playstation 4 - 145 million

Some nice research man! Add in the other stores and I'd imagine you get closer to 20,000. 1m / 20,000 = 50 units per store. Having said that, the 'shipped' number normally counts units manufactured - so you also might wish to account for units in transit, warehouses etc. But it is certainly feasible

Is it not 10.4 miljon WW then you are forgetting the EU and japan...

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

As of yesterday the Fry's in Renton, WA (near Seattle) currently has over 400 Xbox 360's... just on display! No telling how many at the warehouse. All over the Seattle/Redmond area they are stacked and packed tightly everywhere I go. Hard to tell if they are selling any of them... but the pallats look "complete". Microsoft has a lot of influence around here.... I'm sure that's why I yet to see a PS3 or Wii for sale in the area. ;)
