I like to play first person shooters like halo and call of duty but.  But i like 3rd person better like MGS4, Mass Effect 2, and Uncharted 2( most favorite game). I have been really intereste din god of war ever since that gameplay trailer was released. It was so amzing when kratos jumed to a bird and you realize he was fighting on some kind of rock the entire time. However i ahve never played a god of war game besides chains of olympus and honestly i didnt really like chains of olympus. How ever the console versions of the game look really different and more fun. I like when games have a good story line too. So is god of war a game for me or should i pass on god of war 3?

P.S. God of war 3 comes out a day before my birthday!!!

well, the reason why you might not have liked chains of olympus was because of the controls on the psp and the whole no second analoug thing..but i think you will like god of war 1 and 2, so best bet is to get the god of war collection...they are extremly fun *as you can see* and the story is great imo, so just try it out and see if its for you, it got a price drop so now its 30$ so its a great time to get both the classics in HD....if you dont like em, then you still got the best 2 games (imo) on the ps2 system and you know the third one isnt for you.

well do you like other games that are similar? Like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden? If so I would say yes. God of War I & II are bigger and better games than Chains of Olympus, not that CoO is a bad game though. But if you really didnt like that , then I cant imagine you would like God of War I & II

i really think it has to do with the psp, even i didnt like the controls on the thing

I mean it was okay but i had no idea what was going on. and basically all i did was grab an enemy and stab him with he sword and the enemy instantly died. Also i only played the demo version of chains of olypus

I thought the game controled basically like the PS2 versions. I dont ever remember needing the second analog stick, and not having the seond set of shoulder buttons wasnt that big of a hassle and it was handled quite well. But when it gets right down to the basics of the game it controlled the same

I'm sure you'll like God of war if you try the GOW collection, it's just $30 now and it includes a code for the GOW3 demo.

IMO CoO just didn't do much justice to the franchise itself. Sure it was a great game, with amazing graphics for a portable, but the lack of the second analog stick and L2+R2 kinda ruined the experience for me.

Chains of Olympus was pretty similar to the console GoW's, but I would say get the GoW Collection and decide if you want the third based off of that. I got it, and I think it's definitely worth a purchase.

alright i think ill order the collection tomorrow. and if i like it ill order god of war 3 ultimate edition!!!

Should get the GoW collection before GoW 3. It's a pretty story focused trilogy.
