Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The sales for Dead Space Extraction appear to be picking up

Go to the Dead Space Extraction page to see the numbers breakdown.  Dead Space extaction appears to be selling close to the opening weeks a couple months after release.  Everyone declared this game to be an utter failure, but it looks like it has excellent legs as it has now suprassed 200,000 copies sold according to Vgchartz.

Even though this was an on-rails game, it was actually one of the better core games on the Wii so far.  I will be interested to see many copies this game will sell after one year.  I also hope it can sell a few more copies so that the Wii haters will quit bringing this game up as an example for why there are no core gamers on the Wii.

Any predictions?

If amazon has a good deal on it I will get it.

I think it will break the half million barrier, but it will take some time. The game had it's best week in the holidays.

The Internet already declared it a bomb. Sales don't matter anymore.

Galaki pretty much nailed it. It does appear to be hanging on better than i expected, i didn't think it'd be anywhere near 200K right now after its first few weeks. I saw it in my local Gamestation today actually, its price has gone way down, they were selling fresh copies for only £19.99, thats pretty damn cheap for a fresh game thats not that old. Hell they even had copies of New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and that was still £29.99 at least.

How technical is your game?

Who cares.

Im sorry but i don't care about on rails support.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

It was discounted to a price that consumers are willing to pay for a lightgun game, $20-30.

"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event."  — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing

no surprise really, all mature games does this on wii, when extraction was released it was the wrong timing, now its picking up

and railshooters hasn't got a big fanbase by the way

No lightgun game is worth $50 in my opinion, any game that is only good in short bursts and you can beat in a short amount of time i will never pay $50 for even if the game is really fun.
