Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft to cut Xbox360 price when Wand arrives, says Patcher

Wait. Is his name Patcher or Pachter?

Around the Network

microsoft will cut the elite by 50 dollars when the elite 250 gig comes out. it will surly get rid of the 120 gigs.../thread

I do not think Pachter or Patcher has ever made a correct prediction. Microsoft will cut the price of the 360 systems around September, just ahead of the Halo:Reach launch late September.
Anyway when is the Sony Wand or whatever they call it coming out on the PS3? I am 90% certain it will not be as popular as Microsoft's Natal

I don't think the Wand will post any Major threats. Its just an improved WiiMote. If MS does cut prices, it won't be because of the WAND.

I think by the end of the year we'll have

$150 Arcade
$200 Arcade + Natal
$275 Elite + Natal

Honestly if Microsoft care about Natal so much and want it to be half as successful as they think, it's going to have to be bundled heavily

This guy throws so much shit at the wall that some of it has to stick eventually.

If they do a price cut, which I don't think they will, it'll be minor like $279 instead of $299. What I think they'll do instead is do real bundles with games that people actually want to play rather than a lego game and a racer that nobody cares about.

The XBox 360 will sell around 10 million again in 2010 and that would be good enough for Microsoft. They may not even have to reduce prices to get that number of sales. Bundling and a good games lineup for 2010 much better than previous years. The 360 has a good chance of doing reasonably well from a sales perspective. The software sales and XBox Live subscriptions, DLC are going to make Microsoft the profits in 2010.

The user base is heading towards 40 million and should be able to reach 50 million in first half of 2011.

Price cuts in 2010??? Natal will be bundled with 360 models and prices of 360 SKUs remain unchanged. Natal will be bundled with new 360s. Natal could be bought separately as well for $60.

And that's why probably the only existing SKUs will be

$200 arcade + Natal

$250 elite+ Natal.

A price drop in 2010 isn't much of a surprise. It hasn't had one since 2008. And it was probably being sold at a profit then as well.

Despite what you believe, and what sales indicated, the 360 had a price cut last year about 2 weeks before the PS3.

Excuse my point if this didn't apply to US, but im pretty sure it dropped everywhere.

So sometime this year the PS3 120GB will be replaced with the PS3 250GB at the $299 price point. Will you consider that a price reduction?

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
