Forums - Sales Discussion - Wii topped out at ~49.7% marketshare, after recent adjustments

Not sure if anyone noticed, but because the recent PS3/360 adjustments went as far back as... years, this is where the Wii's total marketshare topped off:

Crazy, isn't it? It was only ~640k away from the mark. I was hoping it would have made 50%, so there would be more (or A) reason to make this thread, but this is as far as it went, I believe!

Actually, I'm not sure how high it was previously, so this thread may be pointless (though I'm pretty sure it didn't get this far). Personally I think Others numbers for the HD consoles look a little low, but we'll see.

Now who said it wasn't going to reach to 50% of the marketshare again?

Tag:I'm not bias towards Nintendo. You just think that way (Admin note - it's "biased".  Not "bias")
(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

I was wondering this myself. Thanks for looking it up!

Meh. Once upon a time it would have been an important milestone. Now that it's completely clear how third parties feel about Wii, it would have to get to ~60% to matter.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Taking into account margin for error, it could be over 50%. Just sayin'

A bit off topic, but still it's due to the recent adjustments..

Wii: 6.62

Currently Playing: Uncharted 2 & Kingdom Hearts 2
2010 Predictions: Click Me

God of War III (PS3)
Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)

Not really important when you consider............never mind.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Only breaks 50% if there's another major adjustment that favors the Wii. Given the margin for error, it could technically be there currently, but without continually selling over 50% per week, wouldn't maintain that number permanently.

Like it's already been said, the number doesn't mean anything significant by this point anyway as it will have no effect on third party software development plans.

It'll break 50% when in December the latest.

Could be earlier if those Japanese RPGs take off, along with other potential first party system sellers.
