Twistedpixel said: Was not the early Others data for software incomplete? Since the PSP and Xbox 360 launched before the site got their Others data in order the former and latter have incomplete software sales there, more the former than the latter. Also the DS would probably fit in this grouping as well, though some sales numbers are given out by Nintendo which makes things easier. |
In a nutshell, yes.
Check the link I made a few posts above... it was from the end of 2006 and gives these details:
Software Totals
Console | Weekly | Total | Tie Ratio |
---|---|---|---|
287,448 (-65%) | 17,083,621 | 1.66 | |
130,407 (-57%) | 1,495,552 | 1.99 | |
52,553 (-64%) | 2,764,905 | 0.38 | |
44,331 (-61%) | 1,018,005 | 0.41 |
The Wii had already passed X360 in total PAL software sales according to this... but it is only because software tracking for the region was sketchy at the time, and almost non-existant for early 2006.
The software sales on a weekly bases (ie the weekly total PAL software) is I expect pretty close in accuracy to Americas now, but the early data will never be complete.
