the archos is tempting, the stylus inclusion is really good, but its another pc! i dont want to deal with clutter, crashes, junk software, viruses, antivirus programs etc.

You know, as long as you stay away from the porn sites and use common sense, those problems don't happen too much. :-p

Unless of course you listen to Apple.

-edit-

And I'm really not trying to force my opinion down your throat, just the iPad is pretty worthless to anyone that isn't a trendy douche.  You're actually better off getting an iPod Touch or an iPhone.  There's a reason there's a giant negative reaction to this thing and those are mostly things that aren't going to be fixed in the next 60 days.

Does Apple even know what a Tablet is?

ipad response to kindle dx but with itouch or iphone capabilities and some mac programs
the archos seems like an all touch netbook
at the end of the day the archos will sell more since kindle is the best ebook machine period (global 3g is just perfect)
low Pricing:generates more sales, remember the wii anyone

I totally agree with the huge market success, but at the same time they are great products. And believe me there are those loyal costumers who just have to have everything Apple makes. A buddy of mine fell in love with the iPhone then decided he needed a laptop so he went and got a Mac. And the list goes on and on. I have friends who are in love with their Macs and just bash on Windows.

Unless you download the junk software it shouldn't have any, just uninstall the crap it comes with. Get a devent free antivirus software such as AVG or Avast! and you should be fine. And when do PC's really crash? I've had one for years and never had a single crash that wasn't my fault.

Also, if you are going to do..say...a research project and you are on the internet doing research on your iPad. You would have to open Safari and once your done close it, open iWork and close it once your done with that segment. That is just insane. You need multitask more than you think you do.

yeah i dno maybe ill just get a laptop haha. and i got a blue screen just 2 nights ago playing a harmless game of tf2, and my games constantly crash, its a real problem.

It's not all PC's, it just depends on the user. First of all you may be running it settings that are too high, you may have failing hardware, or maybe you have too much junk on your PC.
