I was expecting far more from the rumored Apple tablet, now known as iPad - osX, normal multitasking, usb port or two(hw can I hook up my camera to view pictures on that beautiful screen? Buy the unnecessary addon! ) , ability to draw with stylus (additional to standard multitouch finger interaction), ability to install any mac program i choose, additional to app store.
IMO, the only area where iPad delivers is the screen, but i'm not really eager to pay 500$ for a nice screen. I have an IPS monitor at home, and while it's better than any TN monitor, it still ain't easy on the eyes after a few hours, so reading books on the iPad cannot really be compared to Kindle or any other ebook reader.
So, it's not a netbook, it's not a smartphone, it's not ultraportable, it's not an ebook reader.
IMHO, if this doesn't fail, Apple will prove that it can get profit with anything as long as they put their logo on it.
btw. It's sad that MS is leaps ahed of Apple with their Courier concept.
