Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Vitality Sensor: The first gaming POLYGRAPH?

I like some of those ideas.........I wonder if Nintendo will make this sensor the next "Wii Fit".

Wii Lie? *facepalm* What's the world coming to?

theprof is right, this is not likely a gaming thing, but more of a relaxation/exercise thing.

A warrior keeps death on the mind from the moment of their first breath to the moment of their last.

Lol ya'll giving the guy a hard time....i'll give him a nod for the innovative ideas.

Regardless, for the Zelda example, I don't think the government is ready to release that sort of technology for mass production to the general public.

i actually think it's kinda cool, if it's ONE OF the minigames in a Vitality sensor game. it's something you'd be curious about and try it, then let other people try and have a little fun. but won't make for a good full game

like the idea though :)

people are trying so hard to figure out how this would work, and it's all failure so far.

In a horror game....what possible advantage would the game have knowing your stress level? Throw more enemies or screen shocks at you? It just doesn't fit at all.

So far, this is only useful for relaxation games. Stop trying to reassure yourselves that Nintendo is doing this to improve gaming, and start understanding that Nintendo did this to expand further into the casual market.

I'm sure something will come out and prove me wrong eventually, but really, your heartbeat isn't a fun control mechanic nor is it a practical one. It's not meant for "gaming".

Yep this makes sense because your a 3rd party wii developer.....eer..no wait you work for nintendo right......eer..a..what do you do again????

in a game like eternal darkness the vs could be linked to the sanity gauge. in other games it could be linked to the eniroment or music. still in others it could be link to character movement. the higher the stress levels or pulse could make the characters move faster, increase the music tempo, warp platforms, shift the environment around. imagine a survival horror game where the amount of response the vs gets the easier the enemies detect you the faster you move and the harder for your character to function.
