Forums - Gaming Discussion - If you were stuck on a desert island - what games would you want to have?

A little twist on the classic 'What babe would you want to be stuck on an island with' question.

Here's the situation:  You're boat crashed onto a remote island in the middle of the ocean.   Odds are it'll be years before anyone finds you.

Good news: You have a wind powered generator, a tv, your favorite game console(s) and 5 games.    What games would you want those to be?

Give it some thought.  They probably aren't your most favorite games.

For example, I love point and click adventures games but no way I want to be stuck on an island with one.   I also love Endless Ocean but after I've explored every nook and cranny, which won't take more than a few days, will I ever play it again?  Besides, I'm on a frickin' island, I can go dive and look at fish anytime I want.

There's no internet either so that greatly lessens the value of CoD:MW2 or Halo  (but you can give a list for if there was too if you like)

For me it'd be:

Super Smash Bros Brawl - endless replay

Guitar Hero - endless replay and music

Dragon's Age (360) - Oh I can play that over and over and over with different races, classes and whatnot.  Trust me.  And I can at least flirt with virtual girls

NHL2K10 (Wii) - Endless replay and remind me of home

Pinball Hall of Fame Williams Collection - Endless replay and I can finally beat some of those machines

love how this thread comes back every month or so

my 5 pics would be (if I dont have any online)

Animal Crossing: City Folk (whats better then a game that lasts 35 years)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (I would delete my save and spend all my getting all the trophies)
Super Mario Bros. 3 (cant get bored of that)
The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker (for the island life)
Tetris (infinte replay value)

1) Fallout 3
2) Oblivion
3) Dragon Age: Origins
All the above for the endless re-playability.

Cheating on the next two for obvious reasons, but damn I could play multiplayer on these till the sun fell into the sea:
4) Gears of War 2 (I'd have time to get over my lag frustration)
5) Modern Warfare 2 (10th prestige, and Fall camo, all guns!)

Oblivion, Fallout, Dragon Age Origins, Final Fantasy XIII and, uh, Resident Evil 5.

Have a *didn't read the OP* award.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

www.xnagg.com/zombieasteroids/publish.htm

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Tetris DS
Dungeon Keeper 2
Civlization 2
Age of Empires 2 (or The Settlers 2)
Baldur's Gate 2 (which I've never played)

For endless replay, 2.

But I'd know after a few weeks I'd desperately miss The Secret of Monkey Island/Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, which would be the most ironic game for this situation anyway. Yes, I think last minute I'd ditch Tetris for Monkey Island 1+2.

Ho-hum, such a difficult question! :O

I'd probably pick, in no particular order... Endless Ocean 2. Even though the OP doesn't agree with me.
Then... Animal Crossing, too, maybe? I guess the Wii version.
And a PKMN game, probably one of the new Gold/Silver remakes.
Um, A Harvest Moon game, or a Rune Factory one, instead. Either of the two.
Finally... Link's Awakening. I can play that game a thousand times and still be enthralled.

Hmm, so how long am I going to be stuck on this island for? All alone? No one to talk to? No... women?

Okay, give my the 5 most perverted games ever made, y'know those strange japanese ones with the naked peoples in... or just give me 4 and Heavy Rain so I can play the strip scene over and over...

... That'd do me, as long as I've got some form of enjoyment... although that'd seem weird playing those filthy japanese games, so we'll scrap those, but keep Heavy Rain, and just give me four random games...

Civilization IV.

Probably that would be enough for several years on its own, but if I musst choose five, add The Sims 3, Rome: Total War, Plasma Pong, and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3.
