This gen, WRPGs have been destroying JRPGs.

But prior to this gen, JRPGs were better.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

JRPGs by a mile. I'm on my second WRPG in Fallout 3 and the aimlessly wandering through the dark is going to make me quit that game. I will be picking up Dragon Age and Mass Effect in the coming months.

JRPG's until I die. I really can't explain it, but WRPG's bore the shit outta me. I can never get into them, the stories always feel very uninspired or extremely dull.

One thing for certain is the WRPG's always lack "Woah" direction.. I haven't seen western art that even comes close to Matching Japanese art

JRPG for me. I grew up on them and they still include probably 80% of the games I play. Its funny, I'm happy even if I'm just playing an average, run of the mill JRPG. Gotta love the classic RPG cliches.

Hm, I guess you could say I used to like WRPGs, if you include games like Might and Magic and King's Bounty on Genesis WRPGs. But since the 16bit gen I think the only WRPG I've enjoyed is Fable II. And even then I didn't enjoy it as much as most JRPGs.

i feel its easier to get immersed in the stories on JRPGs

jrpgs. the last wrpgs that i finished was diablo 1 for pc.

As much as I love Final Fantasy VI, Bethesda Studio's Fallout 3 is a masterpiece. So I'm going to have to say WRPG's.

WRPG's, but I do my best to dabble in both.

Time dictates how many RPG's I play even more than money.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

JRPGS by far. The only good WRPG's are the ones made by Bioware. The ones made by Bethesda (fallout 3 and oblivion) have some of the weakest storytelling i have ever seen in an RPG and it is increidbly painful to sit through it. Not only that but most WRPG's are loaded with a shit ton of side quests(which are only good if its an MMO), boring or non-existant characters, and mostly seem to take place in some generic medevil setting. These factors make it very hard for me to get into these games
