It's more like what fits best instead of which ones have come across in the past.
I've only bought DLC for 3 games in my life. Halo 3, Modern Warfare and Fallout 3. I hate DLC but if its for a game I really like then I'll buy it.
I plan to buy MW2 DLC.

But i buy as many discount games as new games.
Mostly AAA games and only the best dlc. The best games first day.
