Every big site is hated for something. Even VGChartz! =P

True.

NeoGAF actually banned VGChartz.

What, for real? How is it banned, like, are people forbidden to use the name or something?

You are not allowed to refer to VGChartz or bring/mention VGChartz sale statistics and numbers into any serious videogame related discussion.

It is a bannable offence.

Indeed the height of mature website policy.

You may not know it (yet), but IGN is a very biased site, that site made itself a big name with their own hands, but later fell for the cheap PS2`s money trap and got discovered in the last generation.

They said everything, they blamed everone, everyone said everything, but at the end NO BODY DID ANYTHING.

I dont know if VGChartz is / will-ever-be in the same situation, but as soon as you grow, all those lazy companies just try to buy good rates instead of make good games worth of them.

IGN went downhill when their editors started licking PSPs!

That's... ridiculous indeed. O_O Wow, man, I knew there was some VGC hate out there, but to take it that far, I'd never have imagined. It's just sad.

Here it is.

I quote:

"4. VG Chartzzzzz: Long history with GAF's sales-age. Numbers are never accurate. -- Posting anything from this site will result in a ban. Our numbers are right. Theirs are wrong. Period."

Yeah, Ign may be fair at times, but still gametrailers are great at reviewing

That's because IGN is using the antiquated method of reviewing games.  Of reviewing anything really.  Basing it mostly on text and the reviewers 'opinion'.  Its much like a movie review in the paper.  Sure you get a small feel for what the movie might be about, but then when you go and actually see the movie, you probably will have a completely different overall score than that reviewer did, because he came to that score based on his individual bias and 'opinions'.

Gametrailers reviews are an exception because they actually review games while showing you the actual content they're citing.  If they're saying the game lacks good gameplay, they'll show you examples of why.  If they're saying the game had lackluster graphics, they'll show you good examples during the review of why.  Other reviews, even on IGN with their 'video reviews', don't do this.  In fact, its pretty evident that most other review sites like IGN, GameSpot, 1up, etc don't even play the majority of the game before reviewing it, whereas gametrailers seems to.  The downside is that Gametrailers 1) Doesn't review as many games and 2) Is more strict in its scoring system.

That's not to say GameTrailers hasn't been without its own bias.  They to seem to downscore Wii games a lot on the overall score, seemingly with no real reason while having a heavy bias for PS3 games.  And they hardly ever even do reviews for DS games at all unless its something like Zelda Spirit Tracks or GTA: Chinatown Wars.

Six upcoming games you should look into:
