But what if they reversed it? 3D Mario for DS2 launch, 2D Mario for Wii 2 launch. Who'd see that coming?

That would be interesting indeed... And, DS2 is supposed to have 'high resolution graphics', according to Iwata, it might be on par with Wii or even better, so it should be easily doable. Besides, DS did in fact release with a 3D Mario. So who knows...
