So I still haven't gotten around to finishing Mass Effect yet, but I know I want to.  I also know I like free DLC so I went ahead and pre-ordered Mass Effect 2.

I know I'm not going to finish Mass Effect before Mass Effect 2 comes out and that's fine, it's a game I know I'm going to buy so it makes not a lot of difference to me if I buy it now rather than two months down the line.  I figure on day one I'll pop in the game to get the free DLC and then not touch it again until I actually finish Mass Effect.

But there's a wrinkle in this plan-- the new game plus.

I know you don't keep your levels, weapons, ect, but if I start up Mass Effect 2 just to download the free DLC before I finish Mass Effect will I mess up any potential bonuses I might get in Mass Effect 2?

Just download it but dont play it

kk, just wasn't sure if it checked for previous games when you start the game or when you create a new game. Now that I think about it a little more and I'm a little more awake, it doesn't make much sense to be worried about that. >_>
