Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Polish gamers organize mass action for legal access to Live!

I can't believe i am about to say this but i agree with MS and they shouldn't allow access to live in Poland. Out of everybody i know, family and friends who are into video games in Poland, they all play pirated versions of games on PC and whatever other ways they can.

Well actually it's even more funny:

a lot of DLC is translated in Polish despite lack of official Live! support in our country.

And as for IP filter- they don't block access to live! what they use IP filter for is checking what content is accessible from your location AND becouse we are treated like part of Germany and Germany has very strict law about brutality and nazi symbols then certain content is blocked (for example Wolfenstein 3D)

PS. Polish is correct form

Now I know why I can't download Duke 3D

Sucks to be you i guess. :)

Well, it's not just Microsoft that's being a douche bag in that sense. You can't connect to Wii24 if you register your country as Poland since only a few western european countries have access to it, so you have to register as UK, like i did.

Somebody better inform these companies that it only takes one person ( i mean it) to file a complain to a european union commission about breaking consumer equality rights and they will be dogging Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. If they don't listen to the committee then they can either get a huge fine or be ordered to effectively shut down their operations in europe. Apple is facing such problems right now since in some countries in the european union (like Poland btw) you cannot access itunes.

If i lose access to this profile as well....I'm done with this site.....You've been warned!!.....whoever you are...

Happy Wii60 user. Me and my family are a perfect example of where hardcore meets casual and together mutate into something awesome.

Well, that just goes to show that you, my dear sir, are an idiot. Especially since we are talking about consoles, remember?

I know just as many french, italian, german, british, american etc gamers who pirate their pc/console games despite the fact that they have to pay less for the products than Polish people do. So how about Microsoft shuts down their operations in your country for instance, hmm?

erm, what the hell does piracy got do with it?! am I missing something? Live is also unavailable here in Brazil, but MS sells a localized Xbox. there's even the option to play Halo 3 in brazilian portuguese (I'm not sure about other games though).

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!
