Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Halo: Reach will 'upset hardcore fans' - Bungie

Halo: Reach will be the worst game ever . . .

. . .

. . .

. . .

. . .

. . . for the way it sucks time away time from the rest of my life.

Seriously, that's what I felt this (and so many other) thread and blog story titles are doing to get hits. So misleading and annoying.

Thankfully Halo is a casual game.

I dont think that Halo is a casual Game, I think the term Mainstream Game is more correct.

Wow...I didn't know there were this many fans of the books here!

Since when is a novel based on a videogame series supposed to be the canon upon which future games in the videogame series are created? It is good to use them as source material, but if it causes the game to not work as well, why not deviate from it?

Probably annoy hardcore fans of the books because Spartan III's weren't fucking invented at this time period. No idea why Bungie didn't stick with Spartan II's (Master Chief and Jorge etc)

They were invented at this period. There where about 2 or 3 generations of Spartan III's before the fall of reach. The problem ist that nobody knew something about them, and there are definately no on reach. Same as you I have no idea why they just don't put Spartan II's in the game...

I've got the Halo Encyclopedia, and yes...III were out at that time, but the IIs were the superheroes, where as IIIs are head and shoulders above ODST and others, but nowhere near a II.  Tom and Lucy were the only survivors of Beta company's 300 IIIs, and Alpha lost everybody.  Gamma had 330, and was close to full strengh by the Fall of Reach, and Delta Company status is unknown.  Compared to all IIs, which numbered 75 totally.

I hate everything and everybody, so the thread is probably right about me.
