What should Nintendo do about Wii Motion Plus before Christmas 2010?

Release new Wiimotes with WM+ built in 23 47.92%

Free WM+ with anything and everything 10 20.83%

New marketing in order to sell WM+ to casuals 4 8.33%

Console price drops 1 2.08%

New colors 1 2.08%

Other 9 18.75%

Total:48

I think its just as important to upsell WM+ now, alongside a built in remote or lots of bundles, because i just don't know whether enough people know about it.

Granted, Natal and Arc could have this very same problem in attracting "normal people" interest, but i still think Nintendo to work harded to selling themselves this year.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Why does Nintendo need to do anything with WM+? They are still bundling it with any game that uses it. That's enough. If people aren't running out like crazy to get WM+ it shows it's just not that important to the masses to have true 1:1. And these are the masses that bought a console for the motion control in the first place.

Not a good sign for Sony with their tacked on expensive 1:1 controller with limited game support.

As for Natal? Lord knows.

i voted wii motion plus build in that supports every single wii game available instead of a selection of games lol

People need more reason to own Wii M+, just make WM+ games that make the most out of it. More stuff like Red Steel 2 and Zelda Wii.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Am I the only one, who thinks, that WM+ built in is a terrible idea? I like it, that you can take of the WM+. The Wiimote is more flexible this way. Besides, if the WM+ was built in, you couldn't use it in the WiiWheel or the WiiZaper or other shells. And it wouldn't be very comfortable if you use the WiiMote horizontally (like in NSMB Wii).

The only thing needed is more games.

I assume it would be the same size and shape as a regular Wiimote, like the Nyko one with motionplus built in. It wouldn't stick out like the add-on.

Personally I don't want them to do that because I already have remotes and motion pluses and don't want to have to upgrade.

"Now, a fun game should always be easy to understand - you should be able to take one look at it and know what you have to do straight away. It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

If it is the same size, than it would make more sense ... however, I still think more games is the answer to the question.

Make software that requires Wii Motion Plus, and bundle it with it. People need a reason to get Wii Motion Plus, so give them one! (or two, or three, or...)

More software that require or work with M+ would be nice. We have Red Steel 2 in a couple of months, Reginleiv uses it but we don't know if that game will come to the west, and then it's Grinder and Zelda. I may have forgot some.

More games using WM+ should, after a little time, come almost automatic once it's included in every WiiMote.
