Holy shit Sherlock. 2 games at 39.99 better value than 1 game at 59.99???? This is news of the week...
Most people that put gameplay above visuals should preffer NG or DMC. God of war has amazing presentation and visuals and should be commended for that...take away that you are left with average combat, sub par platforming and horrid "push the statue" puzzles. Oh, and quick time events...those are great.
This is a really strong year for all gaming devices!

If you are referring to Heavy Rain as one of those box arts...Sony is offering the EU online to print for it as a replacement when the game is released.
Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...

never mind the fact that these games are designed in the past to play on the PS2 and not this generations version of the game even if they are a touched up some.

Not my opionion at all.
OP said "best hack and slash".
He can say best selling or one of the best. You are living in a box if you think that God of war is widely considered as a "best" hack and slash.
My PS3 looks the same to me in 2010 as it is in 2009 and 2008.
still pretty ugly.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
