Will Halo REACH be good enought to be a MW killer ?

It already is. If you count just 360. Inculding PS3 in against Halo Reach is unfair.

That's a lot of assumption going on in one sentence. MW2 isn't even through selling yet and is already on it's way to outselling Halo 3 on the 360 and you are also assuming that Reach outsells Halo 3 itself. I don't see how it's unfair to count the ps3 copies of MW against halo either. Unfair because it shows how many more people bought a game then your favorite maybe. There's no reason to gimp the sales of one game in favor of your other. If more people wanted to play halo they would have bought a 360. People who wanted to buy halo got halo and though's who wanted to buy MW2 bougt that too. The fact remains that Modern Warfare is more popular. No matter how you cut it, more people purchased it. You can't tell me that ps3 owners couldn't buy a 360 and halo if they had wanted to. Next are we going to gimp Mario sales because the wii has sold so much? Tipical Selnor response though.

Umm no, it's unfair because it's not a valid comparison at all, and I don't know why people on this site seem to enjoy making these kind of comparisons.

Halo 3 vs. Modern Warfare 2 is not a valid comparison because you cannot argue that Halo 3 wouldn't sell a fair (not huge, but decent) amount of copies on the PS3 had it been released on it at launch.

Halo 3 vs. Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360) is not a valid comparison because it completely ignores Modern Warfare 2 (PS3) sales which, had the game been exclusively on the Xbox 360, could've boosted those numbers (not all the way, but somewhat).

Neither comparison is valid. Both of you need to stop trying to spin invalid comparisons in your favor, and everyone needs to stop wanting to compare exclusives to multiplats.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Around the Network

Is this thread about game quality falling behind COD or sales? I lost track whats going on with all these imaginary comparisons...

To everyone who replied to my last post, it doesn't matter how many consoles a game is on. Mario is on one system and yet outsells every other game. It's unfair to MW2 to say that halo is more popular when negating millions of people who bought the game. Is halo more popular on the 360? Who knows, MW2 just came out and has a lot of sales in it left while Halo 3 has been out for three years. I never said to compare it to MW2. I'm showing how stupid it is to compare Halo to MW2 in such a manner. There is no "fair" comparison to the game because it's impossible to be impartial to both titles and still put them on level playing fields. If you do compare them just on the 360 then it's still unfair because there is the number of people like me who bought halo but, owning both a 360 and ps3 bought COD on my PS3. And there is no way for you to know how many people did the same. So either compare Halo vs. Cod (both consoles) or don't compare them at all but don't point the finger at me because I never compared them at all in this manner.
