Why dosent Sony gofor Exclusive games based limited edition SKUs. IMO any good exclusive or non exculsive game based limited editon console (with custom art on it you know) is absolute a good idea and i  have seen Sony lackin lacking in this. Personally I would have loved an inFamous , KZ2 ,Heavy Rain and similar based "limited" edition console. I think these are good for game exposure and upto an extend general H/w push aswell. The last i remeber are MGS and recently FFXII based and the FF based i know is sold out and will be in demand if it is produced.

Oh yes. Sony fails when it comes to bringing limited edition SKU's to the US and EU.

Because they still sell consoles at a loss. Having these kind of SKU's you speak of just make people want to collect them. Sony doesn't want that. They want 1 console in the gamers home and said gamer to buy many games. Games are Sony's bread and butter. Selling multiple consoles at a loss for the sake of people collecting them is Sony's cabbage, they don't want that shit.

There is a Darksiders one that is in a VERY limited quantity! Japan gets a good amount of Limited Edition SKU's I think, I know they got a Yakuza 3 one, I forgot what else other than Final Fantasy XIII.

lets take the FF based SKU it sold for $460( not sure im not from US ) even does this sells for loss? and it dosent have to be limited  like 100 or 200 peices. I think they are more about exposure for the console and game. I  aslo belive any number of console to the consumers house is good, he /she will eventually buy games for it ?? and the "publicity" is good imo
