Point and Click Adventure for PC, with gorgeous art direction and looks to be a serious contender for Adventure GOTY of 2008.

Story - Once upon a time...

Deep within the walls of a gloomy castle in the equally gloomy land of Draxsylvania, the young, gifted opera singer Mona De Lafitte is held captive by her tormentor, vampire Baron Shrowdy von Kiefer. Ever since she was transformed into a vampire by Shrowdy and whisked off to Draxsylvania, her greatest wish has been to return to Paris, continue her singing career, and one day become a star at the Paris Opera.

When Shrowdy fails to return from a nightly foray, she at last sees an opportunity to flee. Together with her only friend and confidant, a cheeky bat named Froderick, she escapes from her prison and tries to find her way back to Paris. During her flight through Draxsylvania, where she encounters some strange inhabitants and some even stranger challenges, Mona must learn not only to accept her vampire nature, but also to use the abilities she has acquired to her advantage.

Characters

Mona De Lafitte

Mona, the heroine in "A Vampyre Story", departed this life at a relatively young age and was condemned to an undead existence as a vampire at the side of Baron Shrowdy von Kiefer. Before her untimely departure for Draxsylvania, Mona was an up and coming opera singer who dreamed of becoming a star at the Paris Opera one day, but now she seems doomed to a life in darkness.

When an opportunity to escape arises, however, Mona seizes the chance to make her dream come true, for, as she says to herself, Draxsylvania is not the right place for a young, cultured Frenchwoman with a strong singing voice and equally strong ambitions!

Froderick

Froderick is a bat - and a very cheeky one at that. In fact, it borders on the miraculous that Froderick and Mona have become friends, especially as they often have conflicting interests.

But dire situations can lead to most unusual friendships that might not otherwise be made. And although Froderick and Mona regularly have heated arguments, the two have been inseparable ever since Froderick frantically flew into Mona's room to escape the wrath of the evil Belfryz Boys.
Baron Shrowdy von Kiefer

Shrowdy is not only the heir to Castle Warg and the vast Von Kiefer lands, but is also a vampire. Shrowdy is also completely obsessed with Mona and cherishes her more than anything else in the world – except maybe his missing mother.

Shrowdy has even gone so far as to have an opera stage built just for Mona in Castle Warg. Unfortunately, Shrowdy hasn't had the heart to enlighten Mona about her new nature because he fears her wrath – admittedly a sign of inadequacy for any self-respecting vampire.

And so he gives Mona a bottle of his "special wine" every night, for which Mona has developed quite a craving...
