Forums - Gaming Discussion - CNET Hands on with PS3 in 3D!

if true then 3D is not going mainstream any time soon !

Maybe not soon but as long as price doesn't remain a crippling factor I would expect this sort of technology to have a higher adoption rate than HD tv's. It's not a resolution increase that people claim they can't see or isn't worth the money but a major feature that is already being adopted by tv manufacturers, broadcasting corporations, the film industry and the gaming industry.

Strange... I don't know what to believe since I recently read an article saying it would work with any >200 Hz TV (which is already a huge restriction...)

Let's wait and see, I guess we'll lean more at E3 2010.

wait...if you have a 120 FPS TV...it will work?

If you have a TV that takes 120 hz input it will work. Or if you have a TV that allows for a checkerbaord pattern it will work. There are 10 TVs right now that do this...DLP and a few plasmas.

The good news is that you can always buy a monitor that supports this for cheap. Viewsonic's VX2265WM will support 3D as its 120 hz and it shouldn't be more than 300 bucks.

yeh sorry meant to put 120 hz lol not FPS lol

i see, thats a pritty good price! only 10? im guessing mine wont be one then, its a Vistron 37inch but probs wont...was just a shot in the dark lol

3D kinda seems like a dumb idea tbh...

I would prefer VR glasses any day!

yeah, that one doesn't. Im sure its a good Tv so what you should do is leave that TV be... and buy something like this when you want to do some 3D gaming.

I don't think the info is right about Bravia TV's being the only TV's to support PS3 3D playback. A lot of times the info at consumer shows are not accurate.
This guy is the only guy I'm hearing this from and I have read a lot of articles about Sony/PS3 3D at CES 2010.

No other article on the OP said anything about PS3/3D being exclusive to Bravia TV's, this guy must have been misinformed.

mm thats only £150 here in the UK, thats amazing!

i might do this as i need a new Monitor anyway so could pass this off as that, but really its for the 3D lol not 100% sure what to do yet as im only intrested in 3D gaming and not really 3D movies as i think they loose alot of detail
